Meet the faces behind the wine

At the end of the 80s, the Secastilla Valley began to gradually forget an ancient tradition, as its people migrated to the cities. With the beginning of the new century, a new generation ready to leave their mark, decides to rescue 15 hectares of inherited vineyards, some of them almost a hundred years old. This is how Bodegas Obergo was born, narrating the stories of the old vineyards. Do you want to know more about them? Here are your answers to our test:

Our Test

Let's learn more about the faces behind this wine, through our questionnaire:

1. What do you like the most about everyday life in your winery?

Time seems to happen more slowly in rural surroundings. The human connection that exists in a winery, thanks to the wine, gives meaning to the work.

2. Guilty pleasure - a wine that you always have on hand (from another winery)

I like to have a bottle of Cellier des Dauphins Reserve from the Rhône close by. I really like how well the fruit is and the way they work the Grenache.

3. If your winery were representative of a party, what holiday would it be?

We would be San Juan.

4. If you could choose any famous / historical person to represent the winery, which one would you choose?

I'm going to allow myself a license: Bodegas Obergo reminds me of the Province in The Lord of the Rings. The landscape is idyllic.

5. If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Can fly. Today there are drones and we already know what the vision of a bird is, but I think there is nothing like being able to experience it in person.

6. In which non-winemaking publication (magazine / blog) would you like to be published?

GQ or Traveler would be good candidates.

7. Bonus track - What's the craziest thing you've done for work / wine?

That is a secret between the wine and me. However, I think that going to eat at a restaurant for its wine knowing that we did not like its food, is a common sin that all wine lovers have committed.

The wine

A prêt à porter wine with a bright straw color and aromas of white flowers, with balsamic notes.

The Pyrenees influence the valley's own microclimate, responsible for giving white wines optimal acidity and balance in the mouth.

A fresh and positive wine that invites you to inspire and dream.

Wine Personality Test

Do you want to know him better?

1. If wine were a famous / fictional character, what would it be? Why?

Dreams has always reminded me of Phoebe from Friends, both for her physical qualities and for her personality. It is a very bright straw yellow wine, just like Phoebe. When tasting, you perceive an elegant and fresh perfume that permeates you. But let's not be fooled, dreams is a wine that invites you to dream, to get out of the box.

2. What if it were an animal? Why?

Dreams would be a chamois or a chamois. Quick, stealthy. It resembles the Pyrenean freshness to me.

3. The reason for the label and the name.

This one is easy. It was found in an old house in Ubiergo, what had been a toy made with half a gallows with a unicorn head made with gauze and tail. Represents fantasy, dreams.

4. Your match. What would be your perfect companion?

The dream match would be a salmon, or better yet: sturgeon.

5. Is it more beach or more mountain? Why?

Mountain. Their personality is largely determined by the height, the mountains that surround them, the people.

To make a good beef carpaccio, the quality of the meat is essential. That is why we are going to use a very fresh beef tenderloin, without a drop of fat. We are going to propose the most basic recipe, with a citronette sauce, which is a vinaigrette where the vinegar is replaced with the lemon. Ideal to accompany this vinazo.

Grilled vegetables:

Ingredients:

1 zucchini
8 green asparagus
1 red bell pepper
2 basil leaves
A few strips of chives
Vinegar
Pepper
1 aubergine
1 green bell pepper
2 tomatoes
1 sprig of thyme
Extra virgin olive oil
Shall

Elaboration:

Heat the iron well. Clean the vegetables and cut the aubergine into sticks, the peppers into strips, the asparagus removing the lower part of the stem and the zucchini into slices.

Put a little oil on the grill, place the seasoned vegetables and cook them on both sides for 6-8 minutes.

Peel the tomatoes and dice them. Put them on the iron until done. Transfer them to a bowl, pour a good stream of oil and ground pepper. Add the chopped basil leaves, the thyme leaves and the chopped chives. Add a splash of vinegar and mix well.

Serve the vegetables in a large bowl and dress with the tomato vinaigrette. Sprinkle with some Maldon salt.
