The Wine: La Floridita
It is a monovarietal from Listán Negro from the area of La Florida. Like all Lucks of the Marquis wines, it is made manually, with the utmost respect for the environment and with minimal intervention of synthetic treatments and using indigenous yeasts. Fermentation begins in concrete and, after two days, it is vatted, passing the liquid without skins to 500l barrels where it continues to ferment. There it remains for 3 months. The result is a casual but elegant wine, rich and easy to drink.
The producer: Suertes del Marqués
Suertes del Marqués is a family winery from Tenerife, focused on expressive wines from the terroir. His wines have already made a lot of impression inside and outside of Spain. His declaration of intent could not be more expressive: "Without losing sight of respect for tradition, the basic pillar of our company philosophy, we try to artificially interfere as little as possible in the production of our wines." All processes are carried out manually; from preparing the land for cultivation to harvesting. The use of native yeasts in winemaking is also a key aspect of this principle of minimal interference in the process. The Suertes del Marqués vineyards are located in the La Orotava Valley, north of the island of Tenerife. The property is made up of 11 hectares of vineyards located from 300 to 750 meters above sea level and with different orientations and soil composition. In turn Suertes del Marqués works another 15 hectares with vine growers in the area with vineyards ranging from 250 to 800 meters of altitude.
The Region: La Orotava Valley
The Orotava Valley is located in the north of the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. In this place are the municipalities of La Orotava, Los Realejos and Puerto de la Cruz. This valley in the time of the Guanches was known as Taoro, and precisely here the conquest of Tenerife ended on July 25, 1496 with the so-called Paz "Los Realejos", being erected, for this reason, in honor of the patron saint of Spain, the the first Christian temple on the island of Tenerife, the Parroquia Matriz del Apóstol Santiago. The mencey of Taoro agrees with the end of hostilities with Alonso Fernández de Lugo (1456 - 1525).
Many illustrious visitors have praised its landscape and enjoyed its beneficial climate: one of the most famous was Alexander von Humboldt, who according to legend knelt before the valley at the viewpoint that now bears his name and praised its landscape and vegetation.

What is natural wine
Natural winemaking has become a movement similar to a revolution, a nemesis of the industrialization and homogenization of wine in the last three decades. Natural wine producers are at the forefront of this movement, rejecting industrial winemaking techniques and the excessive use of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or fertilizers in the vineyard. Perhaps even more important, natural wine should be viewed as an agricultural product where agriculture is an essential part. Agricultural conditions, labor rights, sustainability and ethical practices throughout the supply chain are now at the center of the natural wine discourse.
Why should I try natural wine?
Natural wine is probably the most fascinating wine on the market. Discovering natural wines is made even more exciting by the fact that each vintage is different and tastes different.
